I did a compression test just now on my STX 583, i had to know just cause when I bought it the guy says it was rebuilt..and It does have new gaskets etc. but figured Id check the compression just for the heck of it..I came up with about 145 psi in each cylinder.Thats pretty good I thought? But I forgot what the compression should be on a 583?? thanks in advance

145 Sounds about right to me for a freshened up 583. Geese that rhymes :withstupid:

I just rebuilt the wifes old Formula Z 583. It had 150/151 but that was on aftermarket pistons. Sounds like were both ok.
