my brother in law has a 98 yamaha 600 vmax. when he pulled the recoil for the last time this weekend it wouldn't go back in. after riding it a while it pulled back in somewhat. what is the most likely culprit? could he have broken the spring inside? can any one give me any insight into how to fix it? it almost looks like the water pump and recoil are combined on this sled and i would have to take the pipe and some other stuff off to get at it. any one familiar with this sled/recoil?
