: This Weekend
fast426 03-17-2005, 07:30 AM Where is everyboyd going this weekend? We are going to try Fridya to ride at Houghton Lake, but if they is NO snow (we dont; mind some mud) then we are goign to head up to Grayling or Gaylord, unless someone suggests somewhere better. Maybee we can hook up for a/a few nightcaps.
rob7374 03-17-2005, 03:36 PM I'm leaving out my back door for another 200 + mile ride. Lots of snow with hay meadows to play in. Couple feet of powder in them. I try and feel bad though as i do just for you guys.
CORY9 03-17-2005, 03:42 PM Yeah, us too Rob. Lots of snow here and the trails to the east are still pretty good, put on 215km yesterday. It's a real bonus for this time of the year! :D
wecker20 03-17-2005, 04:02 PM I wouldn't ride any marked trails in lower Mi. Gaylord might be ok but I know they were bad 2 weeks ago. If it were me, I'd go across the bridge. I plan on riding this weekend but won't hit a marked trail. We still have plenty of snow in the fields, woods, and two tracks. Go 7 miles southeast of my place and the fields are bare.

Don't listen to that guy, he don't know nothin. :D Just watched the weather and Sat. and Sun. look good. Got a storm coming in so stay in Houghton, Sat. night and Sun. should be good.
cottagecreep 03-17-2005, 06:49 PM Riding out my backyard in... 5 min, and this weekend over to dorset area, than to hali, and maybe 1 day here in muskoka. Good riding, nice trails, excellent lakes.
fast426 03-17-2005, 08:22 PM Everybody has to understand, me and my buddies live in lcities where each lot is right next to the other, and you are not allowed to ride sleds or any ATV anywhere (I even called the city and they told me I could not ride on my property, I didn;t argue as the only time I ride here is an occasional zip down the alley, which has brought cops many times, or onto the trailer), so for us, a marked trail, half snow half mud, is better than what we have here, so we are riding. We are hoping for the best, what do you all think about riding Houghton Lake this weekend?
From Marquette to Newberry should be fine, they have all kinds of snow.Big storm coming, Check JDs forecast John Dee (http://www.johndee.com/)

Same here but I still do. They actually have to physically catch me on the sled. Otherwise they can not prove who was operating it and therefore can not lay a fine. Beat it twice already.
kowalcs 03-18-2005, 10:39 AM The Frederic area got 4" this week. The trails between Moorestown and Grayling were in really nice shape last weekend. Not much snow, but they were white and flat.
msperic 03-18-2005, 12:35 PM Unfortunately I will not be up to the cottage riding this weekend. Will be the first weekend I will be missing this season. First ride was 3rd weekend of December and we have ridden every weekend since. The trails in the Haliburton area are in great shape. Best March conditions Haliburton has seen in years. Will be back up riding on Easter weekend. Last Easter weekend I was getting the dock and boat ready to go back in the water. The machines were already put to sleep for the summer season. Must say this has been a pretty good riding season in my area. Cheers!
