Im thinking of cutting 1/2 " out of front shocks and pulling up front strap in rear skid to accomplish 06 ride hieght. What do you think?

I hope it works, because I want to do the same thing. This '05 is brutal on the arms and shoulders.

why would u want it to be lower? you would less travel, and it wouldnt look as good

provided you have the sc-4 it will work.

Dont bother....they changed alot of things to engineer the lower ride hight. Why mess with the sled, I doubt it will make that much of a diference in the end

In '05, they changed the geometry of the whole suspension. There is way too much weight on the front end during normal riding. I am going to try to find a shorter shock to use or I will put a spacer inside the shock to effectively shorten the free length. I have never bottomed out the front, so shortening the travel should be of no consequence. I am running USI Project X skis which are taller from the mount hole centerline to the bottom of the carbide than the precision skis are. I will not go back to the precisions, so in order to take some pressure off the front without cranking the center shock up until I feel like I'm driving a dump truck, this seems to be the only option to me.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I don't know how ride height will affect things but in my opinion loosen the strap one maybe two holes, re-adjust track, move the handle bars back a little and sh-can the stab. bar :cussing: then just keep the inner ski planted at all times :D

Have you ridden an '05 REV? You need to ride one to know what we are talking about. When the limiter strap already has a bunch of slack in it, it does no good to loosen it except to pull bigger wheelies. I'm not at all sure what youmean by re-adjusting the track. I have it adjusted appropriately for a 1" track with 1.325 studs. I don't see where adjusting the track would lighten the front end. I've tried it with the sway bar out of the equation. In my opinion, that is not the way to go.

I think shorter (and possibly firmer) springs would do what you guys are looking for. Leave the shocks as-is so you still have all the suspension travel needed to handle the the "big ones"

If they were shorter, there would be a chance that the spring retainer might fall off. A spring that was the same length but softer might be the way to go tho. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would not cut any springs ever.I would get your sled up off the ground and back the preload off the front springs and then the front skid spring.soften the rear springs and then adjust the limiter strap so the track sits level on the floor.it should drop your over all height a couple inches.that equals much better corner control.leave the stabilizer on it doesn't care if the front is high or low it works the same regardless

I re-read the thread and didn't see where anyone mentioned 'cutting' springs. I would have to say that I agree with you on that. I wouldn't cut them either. Preload on my front springs is as low as it will go now. Taking preload off the center shock will again put more weight on the front as will tightening the limiter strap. Softening the rear springs any more than they are is not practical. It will bottom with any air at all. I don't care about ride height. My concern is getting some weight off the front skis.

even cutting the shock won't do anything to ride height as it is totally controled by the springs.
1 soften preload stock springs
2 get next softer springs set preload at minimum
if you go super short you will have to go stiffer or you will bottom.

You're right about the shortening of the shock not affecting ride height, so it won't affect ski pressure either. Sometimes my head is where it isn't supposed to be. I have the preload as light as it will go, so softer springs are the first thing to try. Do you agree?
