My van wouldn't start this morning . It was cranking , had spark and fuel pressure . I had it towed to my dealer they called and told me it needed a Pcm and I gave them the O.K. . Well they put the box in and started it , Pop goes the engine, seized !! If the people at the dealership weren't childhood friends I wouldn't have believed it ! Junkyard motor goes in in the morning $ 1500.00 out the door . I called Chevy for assistance (never hurts to try ) They can't help me . Come on I get 240,000 before they go . I really am not upset , They have always taken care of legitimate problems without a hassle.

Our oldest work truck is a 98 F250 for parts delivery, it has 310,000. Original motor original trans. The only thing that's been replaced is the windshield and the tailgate. Now, that's a truck.

Unfortunately it happens. Strange that it needed a PCM, wonder if the engine was pooched the whole time?

Sounds like it was loaded up with fuel from cranking.

I,m thinking that the timing went way off w/ the box , jumped the timing chain and stuck the valves into the piston . I will post the results when they do the autopsy.
