My sled is an 02 mxz 800 I have always run mineral oil in it. I bought it used and never knew what was in it so I though meh its used what can it hurt if its a different type. The wife’s sled is a 05 mxz 600 she got it at the end of the session and only put aprox 230km on it. I am sure it has synthetic in it. My question is it ok to mix mineral oil in with the synthetic until it is all mineral? I am not trying to start a synth VS mineral oil debate I run mineral because the synth price is outrageous. The manual for the sled says you can run mineral I just need to know if it is ok to mix. I would think I might foul some plugs but I am not sure.

it will be fine, however I would run it low first before toping up with the new oil.

if your really worried about it, take a oz of each oil and mix them in a glass jar. as long as they don' gel up, your good to go.

Yeah that's what I did, run the reservoir as low as is safely possible and then just added. You are right, synthetic is a bit pricey.

I switched on my zrt when I got it and simply ran it low and then put in the amsoil,,,, worked fine for me for 4 or 5 years afterwards,,,, so no worries
