Took a lil' field trip today to Union Bay Racing to drop off me motor. Didn't get to see Modzilla but did get some shots of Rick Ward's Pro Open Mod winning hillclimb sled that I posted in the Mountain Sled Forum. Here's a video of Modzilla with reverse direction twin Union Bay billet engines mounted using two secondaries on either end of the driveshaft. And yes, it shattered the world record (and yes, that IS MPH):

Yeah, talk about a one dimensional sled eh? The twin engines are 1100 cc billet rockets that drive the same shaft. Hit the nitrous and GOODBYE! The video's digitalization couldn't keep up with the speed of the sled so it looks jerky coming thru the trap - did anyone else notice that? You sure could hear when he hit the nitrous! The real crazy thing is Alan told me the porting was similar to what they're doing on my sled - just trail porting. He says they can do better so look for the 200 barrier to come down soon. Also he said the driver let off before he was out of the trap for fear of not being able to stop in time on the runout. The next run they were going for it but they blew a belt on one side yet still managed 191!

ya the digi video certainly doesn't do it justice......that's something you gotta see in person!!!.....ya and i did wonder why he got off it early.....dang could have done alot more with more run off for sure!!! :ohmy:

I couldn't even imagine going that fast on a sled. At 100, I feel like I'm going to fly right off! And what if something broke? OUCH!

A gal racer DID have her track disintegrate at 165mph at the event the prior year. She broke her pelvis and several other bones but did recover. If something breaks on these speed runs, you are gonna pay - no two ways about it.

I hope these guys have adult diapers on before making the run. HAHAHA I know I would.

We are both wrong. They are twin 1430 billet triples putting out about 340 HP each with nitrous so that sled is making close to 700 HP. The 200 MPH barrier will be shattered next time they run.
