pottsie 09-01-2002, 12:27 PM 3.5 years so far for me. I took Zyban and it worked.
Mikadoo 09-01-2002, 12:52 PM Smoked for 14 years, been smoke free now for 14 years.
Quit about a hundred times before one day I REALLY made up my mind to do it. Took about a year to get it out of my system, now I could care less, even though when someone first lights one up it sure smells good, after that it smells like crap!
One of the things that helped me quit was the price @ $1.25 per pack, I had enough! Was used to $0.40 cents, cant see how anyone would pay 4-$5.00 a pack now! Ouch! That must hurt the wallet!
Let's see, two packs @ $10.00 per day x 365= $3,650.00 per year!!!!! With that money I could trade up for a new sled every year and pay for a winter's riding. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
The best of luck to all, it's not easy but you CAN do it!
moved to chit chat *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Not to shabby!!!
Good job... I've been smoking for about 8 years now, and quite a couple of times already.. I've also had some periods that I strictly sticked to one cigaret a day. Now I do about half a pack a day, a nice improvement over the 2 packs a day that I used to smoke http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
The times I have quit, it wasn't much of a problem, the first couple of days were evil, but after that it sort of gets out of the system.. I'm just stupid that I start again after a while http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Thinking "well I proved that I can quit now, so why not..."
Last time I quit was about a year ago when I got a new girlfriend that absolutely hated smoking. When we broke up a couple of months later I got kinda depressed and I just got back in the same old stupid routine again :/
####, I really *should* quit http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Heavy 09-03-2002, 10:13 AM quit now for about 2 years. Will never smoke again. Its way to easy to start and way to HARD to quit.
performancex 09-03-2002, 11:56 AM been about a year and a half now.
Darryn Duncan 09-03-2002, 02:58 PM A buddy of mine quit smoking and bought a 2002 zr800cc from the money he has saved. I guess I'll start smoking so I can quit SO I CAN buy a new sled.
ZIPPAR 02mxz800sp 09-03-2002, 04:11 PM trying to quit smokes r up to 8.00 dollars a pack here now.:(
TallCool1 09-03-2002, 05:14 PM Good job guys!!!! *Keep up the good work. *Snowmonkey, those are some amazing numbers. *When you put it that way, everyone probably wants to quit. *Thankfully, I've never started. *Good luck to the rest of you that are still trying to quit.
ARCTICZRT600 09-03-2002, 08:12 PM I started back in 88 when I was in the Navy, I have quit a few times but to no avail. *The important thing is is to not stop quiting.
AlaskanGold 09-03-2002, 08:49 PM I have tried to quit countless times.... Every time I try I'll do good till I drink, then It's lights out. #### the bad luck!
idooski 09-04-2002, 11:43 AM I quit April 96. I have not touched one (literally) since. I won't even hand my wife her pack. I don't miss them a bit. That's how I pay for my new sleds.
rodmax 09-05-2002, 07:15 PM http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I quit 4 1/2 years ago, still remember the date well,(feb 16) it is a day of celebration each year it passes again.I may have put on about 30 lbs but it is a lot easier to carry than those 7.50 per pack smokes.
*I cant say it was easy but it is worth the effort...keep it up!! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
LicknOutaTheCatsDish 09-06-2002, 05:15 PM quit a little over 4 years ago....tried the patches, that lasted about 2 hours before I tore it off and rolled it up and smoked it. *The day has to come when you are totally ready!!!!!!
IMO, the actual desire to quit has to be stronger than the physical craving to smoke * *PERIOD
LicknOutaTheCatsDish 09-06-2002, 05:17 PM the real test is when you're in a bar having a beer, if you can drink beer in a bar and not have to smoke...you've made
but i'll admit...I still like to have a cigar, like Clinton, i didn't inhale!
sledcrazy 09-06-2002, 07:06 PM its not as hard as people think it is to quit, i smoked for a little while, and quit like a month ago, but i didnt smoke for THAT long, so maybe if you do it for a LONG TIME it takes a lot to quit.
skidoorider 09-06-2002, 09:46 PM I don't smoke, but my wife does. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can help her quit, I would greatly appreciate them * *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *RB
tell her you will buy her a jaccuzi from the money she saves on not smoking?
