: New Look '
snowmutt 05-15-2005, 07:02 PM well since i didnt have a sled to summerize this yr. I decided to give the
trailer a new look before the new sleds arrive.
It was time for some tlc after all the crap we put them though over the winter mo ,s anyhow .
now i just need to set the ski guides when the sled gets home.
snowmutt 05-15-2005, 07:08 PM heres the front . All i need now is a S.W sticker . I did some touch up from the stone chips and added the bee.
JasonF 05-15-2005, 08:15 PM Very nice  , How well does the decals hold up to the salt and snow?
Octane 05-15-2005, 08:22 PM Hey thats nice.
One of my friends has a trailer like that. His is a 50 foot long semi trailer though and it says "Ski-Doo Racing" the whole way down the side of it.
He's a fully factory sponsored Ski-Doo racer. All I can say is, must be nice.
Id race for Polaris if I were to ever get serious about it, but Doo does take good care of him.
Last winter he was supposed to do some practice laps with Blair Morgan. Morgan broke his leg, so instead of practice racing him, Morgan sat on top of the trailer and critiqued his lines and his riding style.
Crazy stuff...
paul yarek 05-15-2005, 09:04 PM looks good Mutt, i had the tape measure in my hand tonight and didn't measure the ski stance of my sled for you.
labudda 05-16-2005, 05:12 AM Looks good, nice and shiny... where are you putting the SW sticker?
SLeDHeaDDude800 05-16-2005, 05:21 AM Never seen such a deluxe snow/salt guard before. Looks pretty sweet
snowmutt nice job!!!
zr580cat 05-16-2005, 09:11 AM Yeah, that's some awesome work. Is that shield aluminum?
idooski 05-16-2005, 12:56 PM Sweet!
SnoKing 05-16-2005, 05:16 PM I"m IMPRESSSSEEDDD!!!!!
boss hoss 05-16-2005, 05:22 PM what did you use to polish the aluminium??
looks good.
please advise-was it mothers??
snowmutt 05-16-2005, 06:14 PM Thanks guys , the front is alum sheeting and the sides are 3/4 plywood. The only sticker on it is the ski doo and pinstripping on the front and the bee on the sides . Everything else was free hand and painted . So far its held up very well , i built it in 01 and this was its 1st make over .
As for where the S.W sticker will go ... I thought of putting it down at the bottom of the bee and then put our avitars on the respecfull sides of it .
I did give the frame a quick hit with mothers but just the tug and the top rail on the sides.
For the most part i just wash it with a S.O.S soap pad and it really lusters it up for the season.
I went to home depot today to get the ski guides and the where out of the 10 ftrs ,so that was a wash . We looked at carpet!! TIME TO GO !!
I think ill wait and get my sled before i set them . BUT! i do need to know , how far it is from the ski tip back to the saddle .
I need to know if i have to move my tie bar back . my zx was ok but it too could have been moved back.
But i did get some thompsons for the deck .
boss hoss 05-16-2005, 06:28 PM wait for the garage door trim for the ski guides-it's worth it and way worth it===bullet proof stuff.
don't leave home depot without it=got it myself and it's the best!!
the thompsons is also good-got that too-i even went for the stained thompsons in dark red and looks good to this day.
one last thing-don't forget the wheel bearings and if you're really good-buy a $2 can of spray undercoating and do the axle housing.
at one time i asked corey if he needed a moderator for a trailer section-and if that were to happen=i'm that guy.
looks good=rock on dude.
CORY9 05-16-2005, 08:07 PM Very nice!!!! Don't know where you find the time, guess your wife must leave you alone. Maybe she could have a talk with mine!

You kidding.. snow4 probably was out there helping. She is as proud of that trailer as he is. Look at snowmutt's sig, they were married on sleds
No matter what she knows... no trailer, no way to take her sled to the UP!
puree 05-17-2005, 07:19 AM you did a great job on that one!!!
snow4brains 05-17-2005, 10:21 AM Looks great! Very nice work.

HeHe Matt, You got that right !! My sled has to be towed by that trailor as well. I'm quite proud of him though, I kind of left him alone while he was freehanding the Bee on the front however, I didn't want any blame if it got messed up..LOL

You use the door trim for ski guides, on the back side of it ,it has 5 1/2" grooves perfect for your wear bars to fit into . There made of hard plastic and very slick w/ snow on them . 10 fters are 18.00 ea, cheaper than buying the stuff at the shows . Some have used old bed liners .
I just pulled off some 2x2,s i had on for the flex ski but now were getting revs w/ the persions so i had to fix it . Now it will be universal w/ the trim on there.

Ill 2nd that :!: Im sure from time to time we all could use a tip or 2 on
our equipment. Things cost to much these days to just let it waste away and go buy a new one . THATS GAS MONEY !! Alot of people take there tralier for granted till it breaks down. My vote is yours boss hoss.
brakes /wiring/bearings and gen care keeps the toys going out to play !
