I have my front shocks raised about 1/2 3/4 way up, and i took the little blocks put of the back, my sled can ride some nice wheelies especially out of the hole, do any of you have your blocks taken out ? Also i sort of want to try out a rev next winter, but i like the sled im riding so much now, do you guys think a REV could do wheelies like my 800 ?

Taking the blocks out is an oldschool trick for making a sled wheelie very easily.
Would a REV wheelie as well as your XC? My instincts tell me "no" because of the rider-foreward design of a REV but I have no firsthand knowledge to confirm that.

You may be a little less enthusiastic about those wheelies as you hit the throttle coming out of, or maneuvering through, a tight corner.

All show, no go.....

But fun if all you want to do is go straight!

Yup, the Rev will do the same, but maybe not as high.

A summit 1000 will without doing any modifications
(I know it's a RT)

I have been able to demo one of the new ski doos and was not very impressed with it. the rider forward concept makes it impossible to make it pop up. plus for this year they increased the downward pressure on the skis so the will never leave the ground.

i hope this helps,

Standard it probably won't raise straight up on the flat. But if you add/do the right mods I'm sure it would be able to raise easely. However MAYBE the sled then could be not so trail friendly, but funny

"Everything" is possible.

The SC 3 and 4 both have transfer adjustments (black plastic square in the window near the back of the rails). If they are set right (no mods required, talking stock), and the sled can get any traction, they WILL lift the skis. Are you going to demo one like that? No, not likely. No more likely than a demo ride on a Polaris resulting in a "wheelie".

They are small and black, located toward the end of the sled on the bottom, cant seem to explain this very well

My sled handles really well on trails i think, i also really like wheeling past my buddies and what not, would a rev 700 or 800 be as snappy as lets say my 01 800 xc sp, or my brother 07 700 xcsp, my brother went to haydays last year and he wasnt impressed with the rev's speed, ( he said they are rather slow )

in the meantime your suspension is wrecking itself. it may look cool but it is a huge waste of hp and acceleration. mike

how does it wreck my suspension ? and how does it affect my acceleration and hp? have you ever taken the blocks out of any of your sleds ?

<<<have you ever taken the blocks out of any of your sleds ?>>>

Um, yes. That may be why we can give you an idea of what to expect?

I don't know about wrecking the suspension, but I can assure you it will ruin trail handling any time you are accelerating at all. The skis lift very easily without the blocks, and I can pretty well gaurantee they aren't going to help turn you much when they're in the air....

Go ahead and try it. You won't hurt it - as long as you know what to expect - like not turning while accelerating.

well....when your racing you waste alot of acceleration with a wheelie. why do you think all racers want the sled as low as possible? its to get rid of the wheelie. you want the sled to move forward not up. you may look cool for a bit but ill be the one way out in front. like mhicks said, "try it". race your buddy a few times with them in, then take them out and do it again. ive noticed the track slacks a TON when the blocks are out causing your studs to really hit the tunnel hard. mike

Ive had the blocks out of 2 of my sleds, my brother also has taken out the blocks of his sleds, if anything i notice more take off, i think it makes riding much more fun (IMO) still handles decent on the trail, i dont really ride with people that really have a bigger sled so o well

if that actually helped your suspension was set without enough transfer. taking the blocks out is the most extreme tranfer you can get. i dont think bouncing off trees is "fun". if thats decent handling what is bad handling like? my '01 xc800 holeshots with longtrack xcrs. most of them arent stock. ask the lostpines boys. mike
