Well I know this seems weird coming from me but I am going to try to sell my sled in Sept. and if I am sucessful I will purchase a used 04-05 Rev. I have been a long time Polaris owner and I do believe they put out a extremely competive and durable sled but every 2 years I try to buy a new sled for myself, well it has been 2 years and I have already rode most of the 06 Polaris prototype sleds and I liked them but they didnt feel as nice as the rev sleds I have rode. I have herd stories of flaking rings on some of the engines. Which engines are having these problems? the 600 or 800's? SDI? TEC? The sled I want is a MXZx 600, but I will have to stretch it to a "136" x "2". Is the Renegades sleds a 136? Can you get them in the X package? Does the MXZx have more suspension than the renegade? I am looking for a sled that can take some really rough trails at a fairly high speed but it needs to get into the back hills on the mountains. I think my MXZx 600 idea will work with some wide C&A skies. What can I expect to pay for either one of these sleds? The sled market is about the same up here as the north west down there. I loved everything about my last sled but it didnt like high speeds on the rough trails. I am looking for an easier sled to jump for next winter. Well I hope somebody has some answers for me here, seems like everyone here are REV lovers I dont think I will have any problems getting my ????????'s answered.

thanks REVMAN????

There is a x pkg in the gade and it is a 136". The mills range from the 600 ho to 1000cc. As for the rings doo fixed it in 05 from what it seams this yr. I myself am building a 05 gade , but its cause i didnt want the h.o mill doo didnt make it in the 500ss. I think doo will offer it in the future there,s been alot of people streching ss,s or a fan 136"

The engines that had problems with flaking rings were the SDIs. Im not 100% certain, but I dont think the PowerTek engines have problems with rings like the SDIs.

Uh, No - All Series III motors (sdi or not) have ring problems up until the 2004 line. The most serius offenders seemed to be the 2003-2004 600 ho motors. Like Snowmutt said the entire 05 line up came with the chrome raceing rings. I have also heard of the 2001-2002 800's have some ring trouble but not as bad as the 600hos.

Rmkman/Revman- I have the 05 X-gade with a 136 x 16" x 1.75 lug, it really is an amazing setup and something you might want to look into. It has the same footprint as a 144 and with the X package I can get some great air.

I know of several people with '05 600 SDIs who had ring problems too.
