On the May 2-4 weekend we drove up to Algonquin Provincial Park to see how many moose we could spot along Hwy. 60. Friday was the nicest day of our extended weekend. The first pic is an adult bull that we saw a couple of miles north of the East Gate.

The next pic is of a yearling bull that hung around on the side of the road before deciding to cross over to the bush on the other side.

After turning around because traffic was stopped because of a traffic accident. About half a mile east of where we saw the yearling we saw the cow in the bush.

Not bad & the blackflies weren't a nuisance  .

We saw our first moose in Northern Mn. , They wouldn't get off the trail and we weren't going to make them . I have hit deer before and couldn't imagine hitting a moose !

On my way back from Huntsville through the park a few weeks ago I seen 6 moose 2 here two there ect.....

The dangerous part is not them crossing the road !! its the people stopping to have a look .

I am still waiting to see the moose around Paradise. I have missed them by minutes multiple times but never seen them. Thanks for the pics.

Those are some great shots, Kris. I'm considering a trip up to Algonquin this weekend as it seems I actually have a weekend free (knock on wood), hopefully they are still hanging out around the highway corridor....

Just watch out for people following you if you see a moose. Some people tend to slam on the brakes when they see one & the folks behind don't have a chance to stop. Pull off onto the shoulder & watch for passing cars before you get out.
