the crossfire has really caught my eye. i am still very happy to ride my 04 f6 one more season but was wondering what others thought of the 06 crossfire?

nate, I really liked the looks of it, but that is as far as I know,,, I have a dealership in the area that may let me take one out behind the place and play around, but we need SNOW before that could happen,,,

brian let me know when that happens. the fact that i can get one in a 136" track is really turning my crank. i love the 128" on my fcat better than the 121" but any 136" long tracks i had in previous years i loved. i didnt want to go to a 144" because i here they like to push a little, but with the right setup and driver u can get a 136 to take the twisties just as good as the shorter tracked sleds, plus u get a better ride on them longer days. plus i would love have a 1.375 " lug on a 136" track for 500 foot sno drags and off trial. i dont know though, i may wait untill next fall, but then again i said that 2yrs ago just before i bought my f6 LOL. cheers

Dawg, I have heard nothing but good things from guys on the web that bought one last year. I sat on a few and REALLY liked the fit. This sled is exactly what I was going after when I extended my ZR to 136" a couple years ago...so you can imagine my interest when Cat finally showed us the Crossfire. However, personally, I'm waiting for the next 4-stroker, hopefully in a chassis similar to the X-fire. I guess if you're satisfied with the 7 motor (I know yours is the 6 now) go ahead and take the plunge. I just want a "new" motor in a "new" sled. Have you considered the APEX??? I fell in love with this sled when Yammi let it out. If Cat doesn't retaliate within a year or so, I may be riding Blue in a couple years.

jim, i have heard that the apex is soppose to be a great ride but i will stick with my cat. i like to race my buddies and last year i was waxing one of there 04 rx1's so that is the biggest reason i wouldnt switch from cat right now. They seem to have got it in that department. plus i am happy with cats engine, gas mileage, ride, looks. i guess if it aint broke, why fix it. Thats why i think i would be crazy to buya new one LOL. i wont say i'll never ride yammi if something catches my eye because i used to say i would never ride doo but it would be my second choice if it wasnt for the fcat. good luck if u go with the apex.

I can tell it's summer....it's actually the ATTAK that I would purchase because it's the one with a 136" skid, not the Apex. Guess I mentioned Apex because that seems to be the one most guys are going with on the Yammi side.

See what can happen when summer rolls around, a guy can lose track of the sleds' names....hope I will be forgiven!

BTW Nate, comparing that RX-1 to Yammi's new lineup would be like comparing a ZR to a previous AFS sled. You better have the spark plug caps on tight if you step up to the line with one of Yammi's new sleds this year.

Brian, IF I were to buy a new sled THIS year, it would definitely be the ATTAK. Fortunately though, I am still extremely satisfied with my ZR and can't see myself ever shelling out $9500 for a snowmobile.

Nate I know a guy here that traded in his REV for one. He took one for a rip and said it felt the closest to a REV in the air than anything else. I liked it but wouldn't trade my REV for one just for the fact that I don't like 136" sleds for my riding style. I can feel the extra length and prefer a short track. Same reason why I would never ride a 'Gade. It did handle better imo than a F Cat. I find the F cats can be really twitchy with the skinny track. Not so with the Cross Fire.....but i also prefer the looks of the F Cats over the Cross Fire.

jim, well i have to say that i hope the new apex and attak work good. Yammi promised a fast sled on 03 that was soppose to be way ahead of the srx but it still hasnt happened, so i am still patiently waitting. its so boring going to a local lake or sno drag strip and the only sleds out there racing are 80% cats, 10% doos and the poo and yammi make up the rest. I like the older years when u could have fun racing other makes and models and everyone was still competative.

rob, sorry bud but i have to disagree with u on the fcat chassis being twitchy. well i guess i could see that our 1.375" tracks would make a difference compared to a 1" track. we all went from zr chassis to the f chassis. me and my bro both have fcats and the old man and mom has scats. we dont see were they are twitchy at all. as well we couldnt find any difference or very very little between the 05 scat which has the outside wheel. i am sure it might help but its one of them small minor detials that most riders would never notice. just a small note, for trial riding/cruising i would take a scat over the fcat anyday.

Where I find it twitchy and why I say that, and twitchy may be the wrong word, is really in the drags. I find they tend to get effected by the ruts on a snow drag track way more than a 15in wide track. I just find as the track gets rougher I need more body english to get it straight out of the whole and going down the track.
