Last year I started w/ a stock Forumla Z 700 and upgraded to a 136 track w/ tracks usa rail and tunnel extensions. The sled was allot better in the deep but still lacked allot.

This brings us to this summers project for my seld which under full swing. So far the sled has been repainted and stripped (makes it faster ). I ordered some HPG X front shocks and springs, and a new tunnel from http://www.vanamburgenterprises.com/skidoo.shtml which should be here next week.

So on to my question, rear suspension. I am going w/ a 144 track this year and in doing so want a rear suspension that is lighter than stock, strong and can handle jumps. I am looking into the expert X mainly as states the topic of my post. Does anyone on this board have the expert x rear suspension? If you do can you post on how the install went and how it's rides ect. Anything that would be considered important to a potention buyer..

Jacket worked great. T-shirt and jacket = riding in -20 weather w/ no problems at all.

Thanks for the info

Last year I put in an expert x into a MXZ 700. I also asked for some comments and help from others and as usual for this site they came thru. Follow the instructions very very close. The 2 things I found that the instructions didn't cover very well.

1 because of ski doo having the bulk head over the tunnel I created a template out of 1/8 aluminum to fill in the gap. I felt this was stronger than the method the directions said to use which was using washers.

2 don't believe the setup given in the instructions when I set the suspension to the numbers that corresponded to my style and size it was way to stiff, even after break in.

Overall I cant say enough good about the way the expert x rides and handles.

PM me with any other questions, I still have all the literature and installation instructions.

Have fun and take your time it took me and a friend about 3 hours.

I have a Expert X suspension on my 2000 700 Formula Z (144 track) and love the ride. This suspension likes to be ridden hard. The Expert suspension is NOT the lightest on the market, but the ride makes up for it. You can change out the 2 shocks springs (I have the phone number to a dealer in Minnesota that stocks them) with ones that produce an even better ride. The shocks do take at least 300-500 miles to break-in. The track can be left really loose with this suspension.

Like tiny stated, read the instructions thoroughly prior to installing the suspension.
