I put my 800 back together last night with a .080 base gasket under the cylenders. Now when I go to measure the squish the solder does not even hit at all. The solder measures .065. So my question is how much can I take off the head without getting into the cooling jackets on the head, the head is just the stock one, thanks, 2001rotax800

You will need to get some thicker solder or lead otherwise you will just be guessing how much to take off. The finish dimension that you are looking for is .06-.065 so starting with .065 is useless. Good Luck

2001 ROTAX 800, I think you mean a 0.8mm which is .031 in. Dont waste your time with the stock head, call kelsey at rk-tek and have him make you a setup for your application. I think your deck height is 0.20 with the 0.8mm base but i'm not positive. 801-774-7331 is kelsy's number. It will run you about $350.
