It will bother you in 10 years when all the trails get shut down because landowners don't want these loud sleds going through there property.
There are other ways to increase HP.

Clutch it, if you haven't already...there's lot's of power to be gained/released from having more EFFICIENT clutching.

I don't know what type of clutch you have, but I would imagine someone would have a kit for it....which would include helix, springs, weights, etc. It may be possible to find a whole new (performance) clutch, but it's gonna be pricey. Look around on the net to see what you can find.

Do a search on the Polaris forum here for "500 clutch kit" or something along that line. There are alot of suggestions on here for Indy 500 clutch setups. Yours being the Classic just has a ring gear attached to the clutch. I dont think that it makes a difference as far as clutch setup, but it might because there is more weight on the clutch.

talk to erlandson performance. or ask around for clutch setups. www.hardcoresledder.com there is a lot of people that can help on there. pipes dont do much on 500s any way.

for the 94 Classic,
Stock Primary
10M (bushed) weights (49.5 grams)
Polaris Gold spring
Stock Secondary
36 degree helix
Polaris Red spring
I'm pretty sure the 94 500 is a case ported engine, it doesn't have reeds.
You always set up the primary clutch to get the RPM of the engine where the power band is. Your engine makes it's power at around 7800 (normal for Classics). Use weights that give you that RPM. If you are spinning at 7800 and have no speed, your problem will be elsewhere; perhaps you need a new belt, maybe the secondary needs work, maybe the track is too tight, you could have a bogey wheel bearing that is seized, the driveline could be binding. I would start by a good cleaning of the primary and the secondary to make sure you have no worn and binding parts before throwing a lot of money at different springs and weights. You may need to change the springs (springs do lose their performance over time), but unless you do porting or add efficiency to the air flow, the stock springs and weights should give you good performance.
If you clutch for over 7800 rpm by changing springs or weights, your engine will be out of the powerband and you lose torque and horsepower unless you have done other mods to the intake/exhaust.
If everything seems clean, tight, and well maintained, and you want a better hole shot, you can change gears in the chaincase. There are gear charts available that will show which combinations will work in your sled. For example, going down one tooth on the top gear will give you a better hole shot and better acceleration, but you lose about 4 mph on the top end.
Lots of things to look at! Good luck!

Hey, I had a 1990 Indy 500 with a 99 indy 500 motor. I geared my sled down to a 1.95 gear ratio, I believe it was 37 tooth bottom sprocket and a 19 tooth top sprocket. I am trying to part out my sled so I have the gears and chain still, not sure what your sled has in it. I had also found a fairly good clutch setup, I could sell you the clutch weights/springs/helix and gears as I have no more use for them. I don't check snowmobileworld to often so you could email me and get a faster response if you want to know any more info. Thanks. Jeff
