I left for Richwood WV after work Monday afternoon. *Picked up the car Wednesday morning. *Got home Thursday morning. *Slept off most of Thursday, and got the car fixed well enough to pass inspection and register. *Tinkered with it a bit more after the oppressive humidity slacked off a bit.

This thing is a blast to drive.

I like your fog light set up wolfman. Is one yellow fog lights and the other blue driving lights. That car and trailer barely even has your springs compressed http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One set is the amber fog lights, and the other white driving lights. *Since I didn't have the plastic trim found in the SLT trucks, I found a matched set that fit into the holes perfectly. *The actual reason why the truck looks jacked up is that I still hadn't raised the prop bar from loading the car. *If I don't jack up the trailer, low hanging items under the car I'm loading or unloading catch on the back of the trailer.

Here's a closeup.....

I love your ride. *Whats even better is how you got a trailer and car for it to pull around. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Actually, I think I have a "problem." *That truck has brought home an 83 VW Rabbit turbodiesel, which I promply ruined. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif Then an 81 Datsun king cab diesel pickup, which I later sold to buy an 80 Mercedes 240D, which I then sold and brought home a 75 240D, and now the 59 190Db.

Maybe now I will be satisfied. *I wanted the oldest diesel powered car I could afford to buy and restore, and now I have it. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Thanx. *Words don't adequately describe the experience of driving that car. *There's nothing "normal" about it. *Then the looks you get since you're driving something so unique, along with the inevitable conversations in parking lots and stores from those that saw you get out of it.

I know about the looks, but I get them because I drive the single most ugly car in town right now. Just look at the pic and you know what I mean...

I know about the good version of the looks also tho, we've been cruising thru a city nearby with a '69 Charger.. one of the 68 Dodge Chargers that exist in Sweden.. People just came running towards us and started talking to us when we were standing in front a traffic light... I loved it!

I'm working on my other '75 Volvo 244 right now which looks A LOT nicer than this red/pinkish piece of crap.. It needs a new engine but I managed to arrange one for free, so I hope to have it running soon and then this one is probably heading for the junkyard, if I can't find anyone to buy it. One cool thing about this one is that the engine in it is absolutely perfect, and it has "hollywood-tires" (they squeak with every turn i make http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I still had the front of the trailer raised up from loading the car. *It sat much more normally after I lowered it and strapped the car down.

I like the oddball cars. *I had acutally included Volvo diesels in my early searches. *One came along cheap, but the person who was supposed to bring me the ad never did, and the car sold before I had a chance to even go look at it.
