I recently aquired a 1985 ss440j with a mouse nest in the carb! I've cleaned the carb up but cannot get any spark. Is there a way to test the coil? Also the pull rope doesn't seem to be in a straight line with the handle is that typical or do I need to re-route it? Any Help? This sled was a great runner back in 03 so it hasn't been sitting that long.

I cannot help you with the spark problem as I'm not familiar with the 440 but it's not uncommon for the pull rope to go through some convoluted path from handle to crack. They often rub on something so they will ear out and you have to buy a new one from the dealer....everings engineered to break down to keep the dealers in corvettes!
