A riding partner of mine who owns a 03 RX 1 just picked up a clutch kit. I'm more familiar with Doo's set up so I'm not sure what he needs for tools etc. I assume a clutch puller of course but anything special needed to service the primary and secondary on this sled. Is there anyplace that gives any step by step instructions regarding these clutchs ?

I think totallyamaha.com has a step by step tear down on the clutchs....i play with clutching all the time and the yamaha are by far the easyest to work on....you dont even need a clutch puller on the RX1 easy to get to with the side panel off.....if you need some help just PM me.

How do I get the side cover off my 03 RX1? I'm not very mechanically inclined like you are. I can't even find a side cover on my RX1.

most people would not consider it to be a side cover and refer to it as the belly pan...after you open the cab...go on the clutch side and the side panel has 5 or 6 screws that you remove and plus a push trough tab closer to were the hood latch is.....I believe thats it.
