I am wanting to purchase a new helmet. I've seen the Zues modular helmet on ebay. Does anyone own these helmets?pros/cons. Thanks in advance

I have one-it's a nice helmet, but I recommend getting a heated shield. Not enougn space for a decent breath deflector.

I have never owned one but I see them all the time at the sled shows. The helmets usually are priced a good amount below similiar styled lids. The only real fault I could see was that on the full face helmets the sheild never was a real good fit, lots of room for air leakage. Other than that it may be a good economy brain bucket, not sure on the safety ratings though as that would be a big factor in deciding.

My brother-in-law and his wife have a couple of them no complaints. I usually spend as much as i can afford for the best safety rating i can get. You have to figure what your Brains are worth . 5 dollar brain buy a 5 dollar helmet.

It is snell and DOT approved. I figured it's a good deal. they're pretty much selling them at cost on ebay

Although this doesnt apply to this exact helmet, I was super close to buying a ZEUS helmet that reguires goggles. What got my attention was the awsome decals on the helmet, the ratings, and the price, it was cheap.

I tried it on and it felt really weird, it felt really long in the front and narrow, and this was before trying on any of the other helmets. Then I compared them and there was a large amount of difference. For some people, it could be something to get used to, but I couldnt get used to it. Other than that, I would have purchased it, and the same characteristics of this helmet might not apply with the one in question as they are totally different helmets.

Just thought id mention that

I've owned my Zeus for two years. I got a Modular flip up. I love it. I did have a problem with fog. I tried two different breath deflectors and the antifog spray. These helped a little, but made it hard to talk on my Collet Communicator. I would suggest getting one with a heated shield. I just bought a heat shield for mine yesterday. Paid $75.00 for the shield and $110.00 for the helmet. I think this should do the trick. Good luck,

i have the Zeus Modular flip up helmet also. i tried the breath defelctor that came with the helmet, but to me there wasn't really enough room for it. so i ditched the deflector and just got an electric shield. i have had NO dissapointments with this helmet.

well other than the fact i was riding down a trail one night and the right screw holding the shield and the piece of helmet fell out. not the helmets fault though. it was my own, i flip the face up and ride around on trails smoking. that is what caused the screw to come loose. i got lucky and found the screw right behind my foot on the sled

so for the original post... for Zeus helmets

you mean at the top? yes there is a good size gap there, but i have yet to experience it being a problem while out riding on cold COLD nights/days.

I bought a used Modular and really like it. I used it once on a 20 degree day and it worked fine - I did not use the breath shield, but it does have a heated shield - I just did not need it that day.

My only concern was the amount of glare I had - and with no visor brim it was very distracting. I may try to rig a visor on the top bezel of the shield to see if that will work.

Also, I did get a lot of wind come in from under the shield - in the chin area. I may also have to rig up a chin curtain.
