I have someone local who is looking to sell there sleds. They have a 600 2002 Grand Tour SE and a 800 2002 Grand Tour SE. Both sleds have about 2500KM on them. I was hoping someone could tell me which would be the best sled? Was the 800 or the 600 a better engine from a reliability standpoint? Also how much would each of these sleds be worth (CDN$) in average condition. Most of our time is spent lake running so we tend to run in the 50-80MPH zone a fair bit. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

They are not HOs btw,the 600 HOs only appeared in 2003 and the only 800 HO was the 03 Summit and then all other 800s 04 and up save the 800sdi(03-04)
and I would say the 600 (597) would be the more reliable and more eficient on gas

If most of your time is spent at these speeds the difference in fuel between the two will be minor. The 800 will have more power and wont be as hard on the machine to cruise at higher speeds rather than revving out the 600 all day long.

This person also has a 2003 Grand Tour Sport 600. Maybe this would be a better buy? Any thoughts on this engine in the world?

What is hey asking $$ for each? The 800 is likely worth $400-$500 more.

Go for the 600. Way better on gas and very reliable. My 2002 700 MXZ always used about 5-8 litres less per fill-up then both my friends 2002 800's did when riding up in the Hearst area. So I am sure the 600 will be as good if not better than my 700 was a the pumps :) .
