I'm not from VT. either, I'm from the southern Adirondacks of NY. Not too far away. I would love to come try the VAST system some time. I've heard it is a very impressive trail system. Old Forge is about 80mi. on trails from here, or About a 50min. drive in a car.

Thanks for writing guys....
* I am planning a trip to Maine this winter, rode there last year up around rangely, ustis area, absolutely loved it,rode all day and only crosse 4 or 5 roads!!! * great!!!

folgers: I do agree with you (very much) about the b.s. from cops and some of the b.s. rules and regs.and with it being costly,I dont know how many miles of trails you have in mass. but we have almost 5000mi of grooming to do up here, thus the cost goes up.it is very pricey though, especially for non resident riders!
*BUT I dont know who told you about cerfews on riding time, they had talked about it for some "specific" areas but as of yet, hasnt come into affect anywhere that I know of.And as far as pipes go,they tell you "origional equpment" but the only thing you have to do is pass a decible test.I run stock pipe with a bender can, never had them even ask to test me! A buddy of mine has an SS with jaws pipes and stingers, they tested him,and he passed(I dont know how) I think its one of those deals where if they feel like it or not.
*just to let you know.......maybe they are more strict on non resident riders,i'm not sure.

MXZ900 * I went to Old Forge this past year around the second week of Feb. That was my first time up there and it was so cool. The trails were alway groom and that we were there during the middle of week there was not many riders. We put on around 600 to700 miles up there during that week. We rode to boonville and to big moose lake and indian lake and to raquette lake and even up to stillwater. I can't wait to go back up there. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

MXZ900 * Have you hear anything about that they want to close trail 10 that go from Old Forge to Big Moose lake? I know they were talking about it on the Glenmore web site last year please let me about it. That trail is a blast to ride on. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

TomW,
If you're *going to ride in NH and VT, be ready to hand over some $$. NH just upped the cost of registration to $93 Non-resident/Non-club members. Just read it a few days ago. VT is also $100 for the same thing.
