Not sure if this has been posted before, but here goes...

Check out the MiniZ rip-off. I'm sure BRP is happy about that.

The first one looks a little like a Sno Scoot.

The Chinese are kind of known for copying designs. Almost all of the Korean/Chinese mini quads use parts that are exactly like parts for Hondas and Yamahas.

Holy :cussing: !!! Talk about ripping off a design. They even use a BRP pic for the website.

I see Crappy Tire has been selling a quad & mini bike that are probably made in China. I'm not an expert on Honda motors, but the 1 in the mini bike sure looked like a Honda 50 cc.

Earlier this year the National Post had a series about the Chinese economy & technology. One U.S. executive called Chinese R & D, Reproduction & Duplication. I recently saw an article about a case that Honda or Toyota (I'm not sure now) won in China. Companies in China cannot use the name when marketing their products.

And our Canadian government wants to deal w/ a system that allows such blatant ripoffs, cloning & counterfeiting  .

As Octane mentioned, I've also heard that the engines are such perfect copies the parts are interchangeable with the 'original' engine.

One thing to know is that this is maybe the plant that produce the mini z for Brp. Just like their kids 4 wheeler line. Same thing for Arctic-Cat and Polaris.

That's what I was thinking as well, but I personally doubt it... it's probably a blatent knock-off.

You probably have to buy at least half an ocean container.

The problem with these Chinese knock-offs are parts & service and the lack of a network like the Japanese brands have well-established.

Last year a gas station north of Bowmanville was selling them. This year they aren't. I think if something happens to these things you just scrap them & buy a new 1. That's 1 thing the higher price of a Honda or other brand gets you service & a parts chain.

What a rip off, they copy others, and that mini Z speaks for itself there.

On hondas site, they have this whole setup to prevent people from getting honda knockoff motors by strategiacally placing stickers and serial numbers in places that the fakes will not have. I too have heard that parts are interchangeable between the real motors and fake.

The Go-carts were at the snowmobile show last weekend. Right in the corner by SnoGoer.
1400 for the 2 seater, 80cc with full suspesion, 4 strock lawn tractor engine.
The bigger 125 and 250 had ATV engines with CVT w/reverse.
