What is the best way to change the slides on on 02 MXZ? Does the track need to come off?

Take the bolt out of the front of the slider and loosen the track a little. *Line up the slider with a window in the track. *Then you should be able to pull them out with a pair of pliers from the back.

Will the new ones fit back in? or will I have to cut the track a bit to get them in? *I've been told that you have to drop the whole skid and take the track off to change them, I'm just trying to avoid that if possible.

The new ones will slide back in. *Just add a little lub on the inside of the sliders. *Just make sure they are the same length as the old ones. *You may have to trim the back part of the slider.

The slides don't fit easily through the track windows like on some other brands of sleds. Although, you don't need to remove the track to replace slides. You can simply, just pull the skid out to replace them. It's also a good time to check things over in the skid, like bearings, boggie's, & grease fittings.
