True! But I think there have been cases where these crooks gain access to a reputable seller's ID and then abuse. I've purchased a gps and a sled through ebay, but not by bidding on them. I contacted the sellers via email and worked the deals that way. I didn't exchange any $$$ on the sled 'til I met him for delivery. Turned out to be one of the best deals I've ever made....just love it when someone tries to sell a sled in the middle of the summer!! :lmao: Saved approx $200 on the gps....my main concern was that I wasn't buying "hot" merchandise. I asked enough questions 'til I felt comfortable.

I bought something from a guy 2 days earlier then this A-0. The guy was awsome to deal with. There are just a select few out there that rather rip people off then get a real job and EARN some money.

Isn't there a way to track it based on the address payment was sent to? If it was paid through paypal they are very good about refunding money if you show that the item was never sent. If the seller can't provide a tracking number confirming is was shipped and delivered they will pull the funds and refund your account.
I have had problems with ebay in the past, but all problems have been rectified.
It is much safer now that is was a few years ago....

Won't paypal buyer protection kick in? Have you filed with them yet?

What was the sellers feedback like, and were other similar items sold by him in the past? Two good ways to check it out, even if he somehow gains access to a reputable account. Was he verified on Paypal?

Many people are afraid of ebay, but after 130 transactions I have only had one go sour. For the most part it is safe... safer than even going to a store where someone can copy your credit card number.
Anyways, Paypal investigated my sour transaction and I got most of my money back. It was for computer Ram.
I've also contacted people and made outside transactions. That's how my brother got his 2000 Ski-doo Formula 500. The reserve was not met, and we arranged a meeting, and bought if for $700 less than his asking.

Ya i should have checked this out more before i paid but i never had problems with buying from ebay before. He had one postive saying good and one netural saying the shipping took to long He had 4 more autions on sled parts happiening the same time as far as i know we all got ripped. Here is his email address that was on paypal ezduzit_350@hotmail.com I should have looked at the email address more carefully i geuss and went by that as a bad sign.
It's a live and learn situation :bash:

Paypal is looking into it, I did that before I post this topic and if nothing from them the credit card company will get a call.
