: Risers
labudda 11-21-2005, 06:40 AM Trying to get a riser for my S-chassis skidoo and want to see what others have and what they think of them. I have looked and they all price out about the same for a 3" riser.
I like the look of the Aluminum over the black anodized (powermadd) but want to see what you guys all have and what you think of them.
Bluehaze 11-21-2005, 09:26 AM Risers?!?!
I'm 5' 7" I need a booster seat to reach the handle bars!! :lmao:
Seriously though, I really don't need risers due to my lack of height. Handle bars seem to fit just right when sitting or standing.
puree 11-21-2005, 11:51 AM I have them on the firecat and will be putting them on the 370 in the next week or two,,, I personally love them.
FreezerBurnt 11-21-2005, 12:47 PM I have a 2" RSR riser though might tring a 3incher later on
I need it being 6'5
Nothing like riding the sled with the handlebars between the knees :p
phazerhater 11-21-2005, 02:38 PM I have the stock 4" riser on mine and like it. I would be more satisfied with a 6" riser though and will probably be getting one this winter. I like the aluminum and look of the stock cat risers. I would like to get one just like that but a little taller.
I'm 6' 1" and bend over too much when standing with the 4" riser. It's fine when sitting though and that's why I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to go taller or not.
snofrog 11-21-2005, 03:00 PM ive got a 3 " riser but it is an oldschool non articulating type . i like the results though . M
Yamahammer 11-21-2005, 03:22 PM I have a Powermadd 3" riser block non-pivot style. I do alot of trail riding and think that with the pivot, that steering will be changed alot since the bars are not spinning on a common pivot. I just tip the bars up, well thats what im going to do.
Im 6',3" tall and I need that rise, a larger rise would be ok too but I dont think you can go much bigger with a conventional style rise without the bars being in your face and having your hands out of the protection of the windsheild and body. But then you can always get handguards but thats a whole other deal.
I am very pleased with the performance of the riser block. Only thing is that I needed to get a throttle cable extension and a longer brake line which I havent installed yet. I ddint even think of this when I bought the riser block, but it makes your sled look alot better!
JasonF 11-21-2005, 04:18 PM Once you use a riser you will never know how you stood up with out it.

I know what you mean. I've got a 2 inch riser on my sks, which already has bars 2" over an XC. Every time I sit on a stock XC I wonder how anybody could ride like that.
I've get a 3" articulating set I'd like to put on, but I think I'll need extensions for the throttle/brake line to get it on there.
me&mymxz 11-21-2005, 04:38 PM Had a 2" fixed on my s-chassis and it made a world of difference. Looking for an articulating one for my REV. May go Isovibe or ROX

the 4inch riser on the 02-06 ZRs is not really a riser per say
The handlebar height is the same as the 98-01 ZRs vs 02-06 ZRs
The 98-02 has 2 inch rise built into them already while the 02-06 ZR have straight bars

idooski 11-21-2005, 08:46 PM You guys want me to start making something? I was headed that way anyway. We have been kicking around some different designs and have not been able to decide on one yet.

In as much as risers are concerned.
Didn't know you were dooing the riser thing SHD.
TallCool1 11-21-2005, 09:13 PM I checked off the Sportech, but I'm really not sure what brand they were when I bought them. They are the articulating kind, and I bought them from the Dennis Kirk catalog. Mine are 4". I'm 6'4" and could prob go bigger, but I really didn't want to mess with extending the cables. I needed them just to get the bars above my knees when sitting. They really help to keep me from hunching forward on long rides (much nicer on the back), now that the bars are closer to the height of my shoulders.

I thought that was Matts back up sled :lmao: , If you make it too nice he'll never give er up.
PowerM pivot adaptor and 2in riser. LOVE IT!!!
I am thinking of jumping up 2 more inches but will need a new braided brake line first. I think the rest of my wires and cables will reach just fine.

snow4brains 11-22-2005, 12:12 AM My GTX came with these ahhhhhh.... Easy Rider handle bars? LOL From the top of the steering stem, to the top of the bars measures about 9". Now from the factory they come rotated down, forcing you to ride back in the seat. But after removing the stop on the bars and rotating them up, I can slide right up and stand up much easier also. I'm not sure how these compare with risers and straight bars, but it must be similar. Cant imagine going any higher, since I don't ride standing that often, but it sure is nice not to have the bars hit my knees all the time.
Think a little rise is good for trail riding. And right now trail riding would be good for a little rise! :D

 I figured what the heck! Its all for budda! :lmao:
800MXZ 11-22-2005, 05:26 AM On the RX-1, I added a set of Mountain Machine Performance 6" risers, but they are unique. MMP will make them accept 1 1/8" Bars and still utilize the 7/8" stock mounts. This allowed me to put on a set of TAG2 Fat Bars whick reduce vibration greatly.
Since the RX-1 has ape hangers stock, the overall bar height is only 1-2" higher than stock, but they let me move them much farther forward. It looks good, and I hope it will let me move around much easier. I could stand up before, but it was difficult at best to get in a good position to ride while on the running boards.

My X-Gade come the same way, the X comes with a nice riser installed but it was leaned back so you where losing a couple inches in height. Raised it up like you did and it changed the ride completely.
