My 96 has stock gearing, 23 top and 40 bottom. *To all you AC wrenchers, what changes to the gears will give me a touch more top end without replacing the chain?

try 23-39 or (24-39 stock tc gearing)

I had 22-37 in mne at one time. I think the chain had too be changed though. I think right now it has 21-39 but could be mistaken. Kevin

I'm geared down running 22x39 now and it's a great setup, but you will need a smaller chain.
Since you are looking for more top end, try a bigger top with same bottom gear. *Not sure if you can gear up much more w/o needing a bigger chain though.
