I don't know much about the Venture, but it's a Yamaha, so you know you've got a dependable sled!
Another member on here has a Venture, and I'm sure he'll comment. Yamahammer seems to love his 2000 venture.

I noticed you also have a Phazer, and that is what I own. It's a pretty bullet-proof sled as well.

Thanks akrievins!

I own a 2000 Venture XL which has the phazer 500 motor in it, and am familiar with the 2001 venture 600.

It has that champagne color, which yes, is either a love it or hate it type color. The 600 is plenty fast and is good in the powder, it does around 90-100mph on hardpack.

THERE IS NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS SLED. These things are the most reliable sleds in the industry, especially that made by yamaha. Just go check the recall section of this site and it speaks for itself. Only thing that I can say is that if you plan to ride aggresively or two up in bumpy trails, stiffen everything up on your suspension to the max. The venture suspension is designed to soak up everything and doing this will allow you to make use of the travel without bottoming. If you are not familiar with how to do this, look in the manual, it is so easy!

They handle awsome too, only sled that I havent lost on the trails was a AC ZL500, but he was just hanging on. I changed my skis from the original steel ones to the USI's I have on now. Also, if you plan on putting on new carbides, look at the studboy shaper bars, they work awsome, or even the woodys doolys to get extra bit in those corners as the inner ski does come off the ground in hard cornering occaisonaly.

Congrats on the sled, you will not be dissapointed as you will have a quick, capable and reliable sled, and not to mention that triple sound...

Welcome to the site and feel free to ask more questions

I love my 02 Venture 600. Absolutely trouble free. A little more top end would be nice, but as an overall performer, it does great. I have the Woody's Dooley carbides on and they do a good job on keeping you straight on a trail. Try not to get it stuck, because it's a bear to get out (heavy). I now take a come along with about 75 ft of rope with me. Great sled. Enjoy!
