I just ordered a set of Collett Platinum 900 communicators. Any good or bad feedback on these communicators. We do most of riding in the UP.

We have a set of the regular 900 series communicators and love them. Most of our riding is done in the UP and northern lower pennisula. The groomer warning beacons are an added bonus as far as safety goes. You made a good choice and should be happy.

Have a safe season.

I have one also, set to Club channel. They work well and the groomer beacon is nice. Ive had the battery last all day. Im considering the communicator power adapter to connect to sled and forget the batterys Link to power adapter:

They will be one of the best buys you'll make! You'll find all kind of posts in this website about them. I wont go in to great detail, but I would like to say that as far as safety goes, I can't think of a better purchase. Me and my brother love ours. Also love being able to connect a mp3 player to it and listen to my tunes all day. Good Buy!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you order them direct from Collett? Just wandering b/c I ordered 3 sets last month and they are still on backorder because of the removable mich that is use for the BV2S and for the modular helmet. Just curious which ones you ordered and if they gave you a ship date.

199.00 for the BVS unit. Everything is the same Plat. 900 it just has what they call a RMS (remote michrophone system) The mich is pin hole size and pokes through the face mask from the outside. For the modular you can use the standard mich but you have to drill or poke a larger hole through your mask. I think that unit is 169.00. Both prices are US. You might check there site to be sure but that is the price I gave when I ordered mine.

I have had the Collett line now for 3 seasons. Never, ever a problem. We now ride in groups as large as 8 and we all now have them for giving heads up warnings. Worth the money!!
Keep using hand signals though for on coming sleds!!!

My friends and I really want to get a set of Sno Fones but I'm not real satisfied with the range they get. If they put out a set with a bit more power and range then I'll bite.

Just checked Colletts web page and they now have the RMS for the snofone so it can be used on the BV2S. I tried to get this when I ordered mine and they said it couldn't be done. And now due to popular demand it can be done. The snofoe is a lot cheaper, as it doesnt have the cellphone and MP3 player hookups, which I dont need anyway. Maybe I can change my order if they havent been shipped yet.
