Most of you have read the pinned topic "Need To Help My Little Girl" (http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=56882) , by Mrpolaris18 in the "General" section. Alot of you have even made donations and sent cards.
Anyway, I think that a Poker Run to raise money for Sick Kids Cardio Transplant Program would be a nice gesture, and give us all a chance to meet Mrpolaris18 and his familly, as well as meet, and get to know eachother a bit.
I was thinking a 1 day event, in a central-northern ontario location (could look at the member's map and decide what is a decent location that is affordable for as many members as possible). Of course it would have to be somewhere with some nice trails.
Anyway, just wondering how many people would be interested in something like this, and when the best time for everyone would be.
Also, is there anyone who has SOME experience in organizing a poker run? I have absolutely NONE but would be willing to do some leg work for someone more capable of organization. If anyone can organize this event, please post as such.
Hopefully, we can get something organized. I know that alot of members would love to hit the Cochrane run, but a 3 day event is somewhat costly for some. Maybe this could be a nice 1 or 2 day get together in February or March, where we could all socialize and ride for a day.
I know Elliot Lake hosts ALOT of poker runs, but I'm not sure how everyone feels about the location. We are 2 1/2 hrs from Sault Michigan, 3 1/2 hrs from Barrie, 6 Hrs from Toronto. (we're right between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie Ont.) Our trail system is second to none, with LOTS and LOTS of accomodations available (3 hotels and 4 lodges).
Any input???
