I noticed it has gotten even faster too Snofrog and i am on a very bad version of dial-up>>lol. I find that using the SW hyperskin along with sympatico dial up accelerator that it is blazing fast. Great job Corey

Also, PLEASE report ANY site issues you notice no matter how small, large, or obvious you think they are. I have a lot of things to sort through and replying on REPORTS of issues.

0 difference with my dial-up. Still by far the slowest site on the net.
I can go to anyother sled site and with'in 1-3 seconds it's there and an instant back button too.

Mikadoo, Do you have the Sw hyperspeed skin activated? It is in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It makes a major difference for me and when i combine it with a internet accelerator it is even quicker. Not sure how computer savy you are but you might want to try running fully updated versions of ADaware and Spybot and a defrag of the hard drive as this can also speed things up for you. BTW my dial up is SO bad I connect at 14 400 kbs >>pre 1990 tech speeds :( :bash:

I am certainly NOT a savy computer person......so Perm?? If you go from the SWdefault settings to that SWhyperspeed one..........what would you be losing from the Default setting?? :lol: hope I didn't confuse you too.. :blush:

on that setting in the far bottom .......you can also have a christmassnow backgroud.......I now have snowflakes and snow on the background of my screen.......It's way to cool... check it out.!! I guess there called skinns. There are little snowmen too...

Anyone having speed issues should use the Hyperspeed skin. If you want it even faster, turn off sigs and avatars in the MY CONTROLS area under board settings. It'll FLY then.

SW loads a little slower since it has more graphics on the page than most sites. You can reduce this amount by simply chosing the Hyperspeed skin.

I have compared Hyperspeed to 4 other major snowmobile sites and it is no slower than any of them, in fact, it is faster than a few. If you also turn off avatars and sigs, it is about 40% faster than the fastest one.

Ok so I'am on hyperspeed and it is like 2 seconds faster, guess every little bit helps. Not going to shut everything down to go faster, thats like telling me to take a plug wire off before I race.

No. Not unless the server begins to load heavily, which it is not. I just got off my dialup (56K AOL) and timed loading this thread, a few others, and compared it to HCS, AS, SNW, and MS. There is absolutely no difference at all with SW and HCS and AS. SW is faster than SNW and WAY faster than MS.

Not sure what advice to give you. I am not asking you to pull a plug wire, but turning off signatures or avatars would speed up your page loads significantly.

Also, if the difference for you between the SW default skin and the Hyperspeed skin is only 2 seconds, its not the site causing your problem. The load size difference between those two pages are HUGE.

Corey, I was going to comment about HCS that is why I ask about the amount of people on.
HCS and SW are about the same speed but they usually have 2-300 people on.
I can make it thru life the way it is, :lol: Now that I really time it I would have to say more like 5 seconds better. Keep up the good work!

Last winter I was using the Hyperspeed skin, not sure if avatars & sigs were turned off, but it still seemed slow in Apsley (dialup).

Since I went to the Christmas skin & turned off the avatars & sigs, the pages load quite fast. The only time I notice any slowness is when I click on the "Add Reply" button & that page loads rather slowly.
