number of miles shouldnt be your deciding factor. How well was the sled taken care of?? Was proper maintenance done on the sled?? A sled with 10,000 mile will be a better sled (if maintenance was done properly) than a sled with 4000 mile. As for pricing on used sleds, take a look at www.snowmobileauction.com. This is an auction from Bronson Michigan and it will give you an idea of what used sleds are going for right now. Good Luck

I gather since you posted this in the Cat forum you want a Cat

Lots of ZRTs/ZRs/ZL 96-99 in the 2000-2500 price range CANADIAN

check the track over real good

listen for rattling when the engine is running

120-130psi should be the compression +/-5psi between cylinders

ask when the clutches have been rebuilt and have the shocks been rebuilt

I don't think I've ever seen 120-130 compression, but alot depends on your guage. Generally 110-115 is all I ever see, even on a fresh or new motor.

It's true that upkeep and maintance are more important then overall miles, though I don't know that everyone sees things that way. One thing for sure, less miles usually means better resale value. If you buy something with high miles, use it for a couple of years, it will have really high miles, and you'll have a hard time getting rid of it.

In that price range you should be able to find something with 4-6000 miles on it in decent shape.

i agree with the 110 to 115 compression i have seen new sled with this compared to 120 to 130 so i do think alot of it has to do with the gauge.

I must have one of those gauges because my firecat sits at 135 and my zrt was at 130.
The plus to minus 5 is the big factor,,,,

My Indy 500s/400 were in the 115 range (2 91s/1 87)

My SRVs was in the 110-115range(84/86)

My Safaries were 120range(I had an 85/87/89)

My 583 was 140 last April

My ZR600 I bought this july was about 125

Diferent manufactures have diferent tolerances in their engines
