Leaving for Copper Harbor on the 31st. Staying till the 7th. Got a couple questions.

1.) Whats the terrain like? Is it hilly, flat, straight, or curvey? What's the trails like?

2.) Are there plenty of gas stations that are accessible to sleds?

3.) Are there any sites I should take in while I'm there?

4.) Anything I might need to know?

Thanks for any input.

Go to the tip of the penisula. Its a non groomed trail but its nice out there. Go to the top of Mt. Brockway. Eat at Fitzgeralds. Basically if your gonna be there a week you will see it all and some more than twice. Have a great time. You will find the full asortment of trails.

He's talking Michigan's U.P. Revrnd
1. The terrain is fairly hilly with some large climbs is you get courageous off trail. The trails are generally very good but as usual Sat afternoons can be a little rough.
2. If I remember correctly there is only 1 station in Copper Harbor and its been in a constant state of remodel the last 3 seasons :whistling: I try to avoid getting gas in Copper Harbor as the last time I was there the gas was still stored above ground (condensation). There are other towns in the Key that you will also find gas in as well.
3. The biggest sight to see close to Copper Harber is of corse Brockway Mtn, you can ride to the top and get a postcard view of the town of Copper Harber.
4. If you eat at the Mariner get the Seafood Nacho's they are definitly a must. I have heard a rumor though that they are no longer on the menu :bash:

Just one more tip, how about staying up there a bit longer for the SW ride??

I've put on alot mile up there, never had a problem finding gas, every 40 miles or so you'll come across gas.

If your around Hancock try eating at Quincy's , pretty good pizza for Mi.

Also check out a bar in Hought/Hanccok called the Library.

Boss:

I am trying to convince several fellow riders to ride from Munising to Hougton in mid-January...are there any particular areas/trails I should be sure to hit?

We either ride from Hougton Lk to the Soo or from the Soo to Munising...still trying to convince them to ride the West UP.

Appreciate any advice.
