This is getting to be a COMMON serious issue when sledding up in Canada. I work for a sled dealer, so I hear all the FACTS first hand. I know of 4 different thefts this year alone. The well ORGANIZED thefts always take place at hotels. The thieves prefer USA origin GM Yukons/ Tahoes pulling enclosed 4 place trailers. They rip the WHOLE deal. To add insult the canadian authorities seem to DRAG their heels as to bringing these massive thefts to closure. I have heard a few nasty rumors as to the extent of the ORGANIZED thefts. BTW Lojack tracking devices DO NOT function in canada. Bottom line is be vigelant! As the Canadian black widow spider says to the american fly...... "welcome to my web".........

I did not know Lowjack didn't work in Canada. I thought it was supposed to work everywhere. I have heard of it recovering vehicles in Canada. Maybe it was just found , not by the tracking devise though . The organized crime network is not just a Canadian issue though . I've had friends who have had a tractor , and 53 ft. trailler stolen in the states. Not the lower U.S either . They have never been recovered . They had satellite tracking systems on them . The criminal element seem to know how to quickly disable any of them. You can't blame it on a countries Police service. I have been keeping my eye on this part of the forum personally , so I can at least keep a watch out for anything that might be out there. Stolens , and so on . It pee's me off to think that I only own a $500.00 sled , and a-hole's are willing to steal anything they can get . Let alone if I owned a $15,000 Sled. It's still something you work hard to afford to get.
