I will be buying an '80 Pantera...it is a sled that my dad bought brand new, he sold it in the early '90's, and I am buying it from that same person. *I know it's not an earth-
shattering sled, but it will be nice to have since that's the sled my dad owned when we started going to WI together when I was in grade school. *I still have the PANTERA helmet that he bought with the sled. *I remember it having a 500cc fan cooled motor, w/elec start. *It will be a nice one for the kids to ride in the yard once I get it back to like-new condition.

Hey Jim,here in New Hampshire if a sled is at least 20 years old it Qualifys for a antique plate witch is good for as long as you own the sled, not a bad deal for 30 bucks,I have 2 of the lower numbered plates,245&246.
I would say your'e 1980 is a vintage sled http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Your 80 is vintage. *It is either pre 82 or 83.
