Howdy. Still working on our 1990 A/C Jag Deluxe 340...

If you read my previous post, the sled was, electrically, completely dead. No spark, starter, etc...

After looking around the engine compartment, I found a 5 amp glass fuse by the battery and toolbox in a yellow capsule. It was blown. After replacing, we now have electric start and spark, however...

The sled only has spark when the stater motor is turning. It will fire and start, but putting the key back to "run" kills the engine. You can rev it up when starting (turning against the starter), but like I said, it'll die right when you let off the key.

When pulled via the rope, there's no spark.

This has us stumped. Suggestions? Thanks.

Check your grounds. It may be trying to backfeed.

you are getting power in the crank position, but not in the run position,,, time for a wiring diagram and a multimeter,,,, start checking connnections. You could have a bad switch,,, bad ground,,, or bad wire. I would start with checking for power at your switch and rule it out. Almost like the 3 positions ignition switch is bad on the run position.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to check into the key switch and wiring to see what's going on. The key switch being bad sounds like a plausible situation
