:bash: The other half has a 3003 Rev H.O. and once its warm won"t start unless you give it some throttle. Once it starts all the warning lights in the dash flash on and the tach quits. IT"s going back to the dealer but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem?

there is nothing wrong with it. Every skidoo starts like that. Crack the throttle a little. The lights will flash, and the tach will quit until the sled is idling at over 1000rpm. So give it some more throttle and everything will be fine. The lights just come on because there is not enough juice coming from the engine yet.

Hello Rocketman!. You could pull it all day and it won"t start unless you hold the throtlle. Is that the way these sleds are also?

curious george, that is the way most of these sleds are. Something you can do to make it easier is to turn the idle up just slightly. It is the large black plastic screw inbetween the carbs. Doo this with a warm engine also.

Yep you got it...its because they set the idle circuit lean for emissions I think.

:christmas: I figured it"s something simple. I"ll let the dealer look after it as it was a new to us sled and was picked up yesterday from there.

:bash:  :cussing: Just like I thought! The problem was a little one after all. The sled was running good all day and it turned out to be the carb heater. I guess when we we"re stopping it was percolating the gas and wouldn"t start. Now I know where to turn it off-on. The funny part is my buddies didn"t think of it at the time. SWRules

@ the end of the 1st season I had my '95 MXZ 440 LC, it became difficult (6 or more pulls) to start when it was warmed up (started fine in the morning, cold). I spoke to my dealer. He said it sounded like the rings had worn & had lost their seal. They put a new set in & it was fine for 2 more seasons  .

Man is this still an issue on the 3003 models, 1000 years of complaints and BRP still hasn't got these carb heaters figured out :lmao:
