I have just changed the jets on the 488cc,,, went from a 380 to 350 to try and save a little gas. The 488 is a pig,,,,Havent had a run yet as the snow is not here.
Anybody having done this in the past or planning,, I would sure welcome your comments / concerns

If thats a L/C sled #350 is the stock jetting you could go lower just watch the plugs. If thats a 488 F/C #230 is the stock jetting. I've been running 220's in my '94 F/C with no problems and it's very good on gas mileage.

THAT JET CHANGE SHOULD MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!
IT WILL RUN BEST AT AROUND 0 TO 10 DEGREES F.
YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK YOUR CLUTCHES TOO, THEY CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS THAT MAY SEEM LIKE CARBURATION, BUT ISN'T.

Assuming it's a liquid cooled they are usually pretty good on fuel. Have a neighbour with a pair and he's always raving about them, mind you he is a legal trail speed cruiser like myself.
