: What's My Cat Worth?

Well, I might sell the Cat this year and upgrade to a newer machine. Tell me what you think it's worth. It was a stock ZL when I bought it 5 years ago. It's definitely been used, but I've also kept up with maintenance pretty good. I'd typically disassemble all suspension parts every other year and replace damaged peices. Still starts up by the 2nd pull and runs strong....never any major problems. Here are more highlights:
6200 miles
136" x 2" Camo track w/ 1000 miles TracksUSA rail extension
Custom tunnel extension
Hood has several cracks, but it's not falling apart (duct tape)
8-tooth drivers
Powder Special front suspension (37") clutch overhauled last year

Thanks!

I sold my 1999 ZR 600 EFI with 1510 miles this year.

144 X 2" Campoplast track
Tracks USA Rail Extensions
Homemade tunnel extension
SLP No Slip 8 tooth drivers
Dealer just went through clutches 50 miles before.
Sno Stuff Can.
Black Magic EFI chip
No cracks, scratches, or any blemishes

I got $2900 for mine, private sale. A dealer wouldn't touch mine with all of the mods, top dealer price offered to me was $2100.

Depending on where you are located, I would say anywhere from $2000 to $2600 private party.

Just my $0.02

That price range is what I was thinking. I know the machines are way different, but how would you describe the change from 144 to 153? That new machine must be great! Congrats.

I hope to get it out of the garage and try it soon. It is killing me not putting any miles on it yet. I do know one thin about my M, it seems a lot lighter to pick up the front end than my ZR did.

I just bought the same sled this summer. 3500 miles completely stock with 3 brand new helmets, cover, couple facemasks, gallon of oil, brake fluid, etc. for $2300.00

What is a black magic efi chip? I am interested in souping mine up a little bit.

I don't even know if Black Magic Motorsports is still in business, but it was a computer chip that you put into the computer box and took out the stock chip. It had to do with the EFI, and I believe the purpose was to increase horsepower, but it also increased fuel consumption. I never had the stock chip in, so I don't know how much of a difference there really was.

Sorry, don't mean to hi-jack the post, but if you are going to consider a chip, go with a d&d. It actually increased mileage by up to almost 2 m.p.g. - oh, and Black Magic is still going strong as far as I know.
