The only way I can get my sled to start is to put a heater under the hood and let it warm up. I don't know enough about 2 cycle motors to figure out the problem. Could it be rings or low compression? Any help would be appreciated. :bash:

is this a jag free air 340,year or two before oil injection. just asking, brings back good memories. it can think of one porblem, but does not seem too be yours. there is a wire harness close too the motor on the mag side with a plastic protector on it. the wires where shorting out on mine. re crimp and back in business.

do you have fire?? are you getting gas?? how old is the gas?? compression?? You have some work ahead of you to get it going. Its not that hard and we can help walk you through it, but you need to give us a starting point. The main questions I have right now,,,, does it have spark and is it getting gas?? I would assume it is because it will start when it is warm,,,, when you say it wont start, is it trying?? or simply nothing at all??

I have spark. I have gas. After I've warmed it up with a heater it'll run good, and I have lots of rpms but once it warms up it starts to get sluggish. The gas isn't old. Could too high of a gas/oil mixture be partly to blame? When it's cold and won't start it gets lots of gas to the motor but doesn't even sound like it's firing.
