: Mirrors
snow4mydooplz 01-01-2006, 01:14 PM On my formula deluxe I had a mirror on the sled and I didn't realize how much I used it until I was sledding this year on my Rev that does not have them.
I do not want a mirror attatched to my sled but I was thinking about getting one of those that you wrap around your wrist.. ( probably velcro) Do any of you use this type of mirror and how does it work out for you? Does it hinder riding at all ?? ect.

very well for me. $6.99 can get at Shade tree The sled shed in Gaylord
Probably Nordi Ride by you has this!
revrnd 01-01-2006, 01:42 PM My buddy who rides a SRX & won't put a mirror on uses 1 & I think the sister in law used to before she got a sled w/ mirrors.
SLeDHeaDDude800 01-01-2006, 01:45 PM Snofrog swears by these. You also might want to go this way too!

snow4mydooplz 01-01-2006, 02:03 PM Wow.. are you trying to say snofrog has bugeyes?? :lmao: Those actually look kind of cool but I think I would prefer the one like you have Dave on your glove. Thx

That a girl will show that Snofrog! :lmao:
CORY9 01-01-2006, 02:22 PM What a good question! I had the sled out yesterday and realized I have the same senerio, can't see the wife behind me. Think I'll give the hand mirrors a try!
snow4brains 01-01-2006, 03:16 PM Like cory said great info! I replaced my handle bar mounted mirrors with the panel mount mirrors, and I'm not very impressed. They do work better, but not even close to my old ZX chassis with mirrors. I like the idea of those bugeyes, but not sure if I can live with the looks of them. Ahhh, guess I'll keep tweaking the panel mounts, see if cant get used to them.

ok so now i`ve got a complex :p
trailblazer 01-01-2006, 04:26 PM I've always rode with them and think they're great.
I even outfitted the whole family with them when they started riding their own machines. Made great stocking stuffers. (Yea, I know, a little late on the "Greatest Sledhead Gift Idea for Christmas List.)
My Legend has the factory mirrors but I still use my glove one for when I'm standing up.

Rick K 01-01-2006, 04:43 PM Some great ideas for mirrors thanks for the ideas... :D
Rick
Smokin George 01-01-2006, 10:36 PM :christmas: We picked up a pair on the weekend. They work great and easy to get the glove off and on with it on. SWRules

:whistling: hehe
snofrog, Bug eyes should have your picture on there site. It looks a heck of a lot better mounted up top like yours. I was looking at the one below thinking, I just couldnt do that.
paul yarek 01-02-2006, 08:32 AM the hand mirror is great. when i got my hand mirror with its stretch attach strap i attached it and after awhile the tension from the strap bothered my hand. the fine gloves i use {LOL} have a tension strap on them that is not an elastic type so i took the mirror off of the strap it came with and attached it directly to the glove. it did 2 things for me one being the reason i changed it and the other is now i don't have to attach it every time i put my gloves on.

Now that is very good info indeed Paul.....I have the same kind of gloves that have a strap that you can adjust around your wrist with a velcro type fastner........I usually attatch my tether cord to my left glove but if I decide to do the mirror on the glove then I might have to attatch the tether right to my coat which thankfully does have the BRP clip for that purpose.
I know I"m going to want this mirror on my left hand because I won't want to be taking my thumb off my throttle to be looking behind me.
Thanks for the great advise.
Bigfish 01-02-2006, 08:57 AM I use the hand mirror as well, and I wear it on my left hand as I don't want to take my right hand off the throttle.
The only thing is, some times I get complaints from the guys behind me, because when I'm checking to see where they are, I put my hand up to see, and they think i"m signalling a stop. :bash:
Maybe I should get mirrors on the ZED, (not) :lmao:
TR800 01-02-2006, 11:44 AM I used one of the wrist type mirrors for years. Visually you cant realy see much, but its usefull for counting headlights to keep track of anyone behind me.
After riding a rental in Yellowstone years ago with rear veiws, I was sold on them. Ive been putting them on my sleds ever since. I found that I can actually see fairly clear who's behind me know and prefer them way more than the hand mirror.
I still carry the hand mirror with my spare gloves if needed for an emergency.

this one I have used in the past and works great. no need to raise your hand to see and it goes on and off with a velcro strap.
