I wasn't out but a buddy of mine rode over that way and same thing as most. Trails were sparatic with some good and not so good areas.
One note he did make was that the gas prices at the Moosehorn were totally unacceptable. $1.36/ltr. I won't be there all year. Its the only gas stop close by there and hge knows it!!!!! RIP OFF!!!

Thanxs for the heads up Kragar, as that is a total rip off. It isnt like he is at the Ahbitibi canyon or something, he is right on HWY 41. Now that Sniders is closed for gas compounds the problem. When we doo that route this winter, I will be sure to head south first and rip accross the Scoot into Cloyne for gas at the AC dealer.

one thing about the moosehorn you cant complain about is the food ,i think one of the reasons gas is higher is they have had a lot of gas and dash jerks the last couple of years.have to make it up somehow.whats with the grooming in that area,3weeks ago my buddy and i spent all of saturday pulling trees off the trail, was back in area sunday, west side of 41 not bad east side not so good

Gas and dash is his problem. I have been other places where the attendant comes out and after you fuel gives you a ticket to take inside to pay. Its the only way they accept payment. 1.36 is outright criminal and being an oportunist at our expense.
His answer to my friend was not the shrinkage of gas but the transportation costs is higher.....which it is but not a .30 cent surcharge.

I wonder what the gas price is up the road in Denbigh is? This transportation cost is BS! I filled up in December @ a full serve Shell in Havelock & it was cheaper than a self serve Sunoco in Oshawa. Since when is Oshawa further from Oakville than Havelock?

The Woods station in Lake St. Peter is another that gives you a little ticket. You fill your sled & they write out your amount. Never had a problem w/ that.

revrnd, thats who I was thinking about. My wife's uncle is a driver for woods fuels and they do charge a small surcharge to deliver away from the beaton path.

BEWARE!! I saw on another website that the Moosehorn is charging $1.29 for premium. It's not like they're 80 miles @ the end of a dirt road like up @ the Canyon. Tankers going to the Ottawa Valley go right by it. I wonder what premium is going for in Eganville & Pembroke?

Gas is available in Cloyne & Denbigh.

Scrimmer posted this over @ OC about the Moosehorn. He was there on the weekend.

Also, they only provide Premium fuel, and somewhat decent at only (yes, I said only) $1.26/litre![/b]

I just bought gas at the Irving in Pembroke and premium was $1.06 litre.
