I haven't found the story on the web yet, but (in New Mexico I think) a man is really wishing he had just used mouse traps. Apparently, this guy caught a live mouse, threw it in a fire he had going in his yard, the mouse caught on fire, ran back beneath or in the house, the house burned down. Could you imagine?!?! :lmao: Sounds like something that would happen to me. :confused: Although I don't think I would have the intellect to throw a living creature in a fire.

Although I don't care for mice......and we detour them from the garage and our house, I must ask why someone would throw a mouse in a fire if the mouse were in the yard ...........Sounds like animal justice to me.. :lmao: Imagine what you would tell the Insurance adjuster... hahhaha

January 09, 2006 A MOUSE has wreaked revenge against a homeowner who tried to dispose of it in a pile of burning leaves - running ablaze back into the man's house and setting it alight.

Luciano Mares, 81, of New Mexico said he caught the mouse inside his house and wanted to get rid of it, reports AP.

"I had some leaves burning outside, so I threw it in the fire, and the mouse was on fire and ran back at the house," Mr Mares told AP from a motel room.

The burning mouse ran beneath a window of the house and the flames quickly spread throughout the house.

All the home's contents were destroyed.

Unseasonably dry and windy conditions have charred more than 21,000ha and destroyed 10 homes in south-eastern New Mexico in recent weeks. "I've seen numerous house fires, but nothing as unique as this one," Fire Department Captain Jim Lyssy said.

Alive ... Duh... What a cruel , and unusual way to do it ... That mouse is gonna come back in another life , and be that guys insurance adjuster . lol. What would he do if he was on fire? Probably run too . I would think anyways . I got cats . The odd mouse keeps them entertained , and the house pretty much free of them . Although this guy would likely get mad at the cat , and set it ablaze too . lol

This is BS.. The man never said that the mouse ran back into the house. He was on a talk raido show today.. he said the mouse was dead when he threw it in. He said he is not sure how the house cought fire.. thought maybe the wind but he said clearly the mouse was dead. He said he is getting a chuckle out of how the story has played out in the MEDIA.

Yes I heard that the story was fake yesterday. The owner came forward and set the record straight. The AP just jumped the gun on it and everyone followed.

Now that makes more sense. Was just talking to one of the parents at school this morning and neither of us could believe that it happened, but even more that a person would tell the public about it. Friggen media, you think you can believe something from a source like that. Just proves the old verbage, believe nothing of what you hear and half of what you see.
