Does anyone have any suggestions? *I need to get a new printer but I don't want to dump a whole lot of money into it. *I mainly print pictures so I need one with a decent dpi rating.

Get a HP only Rob. Beth's Epson take 4 times as long as my 5 yearold HP. Plus with my hp I can set it in econo mode and still read documents fine. Your docs were actually printed in econo mode and you know how easy they were to read. I can go through about 3 reams of legal paper before changing a black cartridge versus half a ream with a Epson. And HP has great printers for 100-150. I'd buy it from Sears though as you can take it right back if anything ever did go bad and they would give you a new one no questions asked. And for 10% of the purchase price you can get an extra 2 years of warrenty.

I have a HP 940c. Quite happy w/ it. Just make sure the paper isn't sticking together.
I also have a HP 4400c scanner & very happy when I copy photo prints. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Hey ArcticZRT600,

I agree with Sled Dogg 100%.

I am the IT manager for an advertising agency and have a mix of HP and Ricoh printers.

I just finished a cost/benefit analysis of our production hardware. *As was expected, our HP hardware is about 75% more reliable and about 60% cheaper than the Ricoh hardward.

I wouldn't buy or recommend anthing other than HP hardware.

I have a HP v40 that works great, *this is actually for my dad's comp. *He constantly has problems with his current printer, which I think is an epson.

That is what I have the HP v40. *The scanner part is the only part that doesn't work well, it puts a line through the pics I scan. *It's been cleaned but HP service can't figure it out.

I use a Canon S600 that replaced my Lexmark Z32. I switched to the Canon for quicker printing and also for individual color changes, as when one color ran out on the Lexmark, the whole cartridge had to be changed. Now I only change the color that runs out and am happy with the print quality and speed.
