: Gas prices
Mikadoo 09-25-2002, 04:19 PM Well, here we go again, gas just went up 20 cents to $1.50-$1.70 a gallon and from what I hear with a possible war comming up it will keep going up!!
I really hate to sound so negitive, but how many of us can really afford to play at 2-3 maybe $4.00 dollars a gal.?
This will really put a damper on alot of folks that have family's riding.
With the stock market plumeting, owning a sled may be a trade for food and shelter. I sure hope not!!!

In northern Canada, the pump price for 92 octane is $1.07 CDN/litre. *That works out to around $2.55 US/US gallon. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif **Can you mail me some of that $1.33 fuel? * *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Why wouldn't you be able to use nontaxed fuel in your sled? *It is not an on road vehicle, and should not be subject to road use taxes. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
FishHog 09-26-2002, 09:35 AM Its the same with my boat, but the Can gov't keeps taking the road taxes anyway.
folgers 09-26-2002, 10:03 AM http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

PANTERAONE 09-26-2002, 02:16 PM 87 octane is around 80-82 per litre,not sure bout the premium,usually 10-12 cents more http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
ARCTICZRT600 09-26-2002, 02:20 PM I say the season premier of West Wing last night and they protrayed a Ford diesel pick up that was converted to run on soy. *Man if this was possible we'd be out of trouble.
Mikadoo 09-26-2002, 03:54 PM I wonder how much oil reserves we would have from the Alaskain pipeline WE built many years ago if the greedy oil barrons stopped selling it to Japan? Last I ever heard they pay $4.00 a gal. for fuel!!!!
Where I snowmobile, there are oil rigs everywhere and most sit idle because their so full there is nowhere to store it, at least that's what the guy's that run them say. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
hbomb 09-26-2002, 04:12 PM hey folgers i agree with you 100% they should atleast help us out with the oil they have so #### much of it!!!!!!!!

highlandergerman 09-26-2002, 08:04 PM last time i looked it was 1.43 at the local cenex *near crookston ,mn
paul yarek 09-26-2002, 08:22 PM the sled is nothing i just dislike the heating costs and it costs huge to run a 4x4 up the road on a daily basis.
Mighty RX-1 09-26-2002, 08:29 PM I really hope that RX-1 test rider was correct when he said he recorded 24.5 mpg's this spring driving the #### out of it http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
jwheeler 09-26-2002, 08:31 PM i just pity those guys running older machines from the early 90`s with those big twin gas guzzlers under the hood. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
03 440 PRO X 09-26-2002, 08:47 PM ACTUALLY WE CCAN USE THE GAS IN OUR SLEDS BUT I LIKE TO RUN HIGHER OCTANE, AND WITH ONLY A 100 GALLON TANK IT WOULD DISSAPEAR REAL QUICK AND THEN WE DON'T HAVE ANY FOR THE STUFF THAT REALLY NEEDS IT
doopilot 09-26-2002, 09:07 PM Just to back up highlandergerman, gas has been around $1.45/gal. all summer long in that neighborhood. Has been less at times in surrounding areas.
Wolfman 09-27-2002, 08:54 AM </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (ARCTICZRT600 @ Sep. 26, 2002, 3:20pm)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I say the season premier of West Wing last night and they protrayed a Ford diesel pick up that was converted to run on soy. *Man if this was possible we'd be out of trouble.[/b][/quote]
That isn't so far fetched. *I run the Dodge on used vegetable oil. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Rollo D. Motoski 09-27-2002, 09:01 AM I hear the exhaust smells like french fries! * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
02MXZ600 09-27-2002, 09:24 AM You guys are forgetting how good we have it. *Last time I checked it was about $5/Liter in Germany. *Yeah, $5/Liter not Gallon. *There are about 3.75 liters in a gallon. *So use some math and figure that out, cause I'm too lazy. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Just went up again on the week-end,
87 octane was 79.9 cdn/litter
Went to my grandma's house over in the states near Malone, the price was 1.43 US/gallon
02MXZ600 09-30-2002, 12:43 PM Its like $1.35 here for 87. I hope it stays that way too. Premo is about $1.45-50. Depends on the place. I'm glad I put the Z into storage or I would be pissed over these gas prices. :)
rob7374 09-30-2002, 03:28 PM Gas around here runs about 69.5/L for 87 octane and 79.5 for premium. tends to fluctuate every day. The only thing for sure is that if a long weekends coming than the gas price goes up. I tried using farm gas here in my sled. Didn't work that great. They put this dye in it and call it purple gas. Makes a mess of your carbs. It sure was cheap though. Didn't offset the cost of rebuilding my carbs. It doesn't really matter though. They got us by our short and curly's. They know we gotta ride and we'll yell about it but in the end we still buy the stuff.
FishHog 09-30-2002, 04:24 PM It just jumped to 75cents/litre here.
Of course, we only make it all here in Sarnia, so why should it be any cheaper here.
:cussing: :cussing:
Mikadoo 09-30-2002, 04:40 PM I have had about enough of this price gouging :cussing:
I'am on my way to Chicago to hire me some good "O" boys to have a word with some oil barrons
