On our final day of riding in the Keweenaw at the SW ride, Renegademike hit a gully and bent his bar downward :bash: . I'm still trying to teach him that its throttle out, not brake and dump :D . Anyways I'm looking for tips on removing the old grips and saving the hand warmer elements. I know on the older sleds that the element was sort of glued to the bar with the grip slid over top and it was easier just to cut the grip off. But now my dealer tells me that the element is built into the grip and that it should be reusable. This is on his 05 Mxz X-Gade, I posted it here just cause I'm pretty sure most sleds are the same in this department. He could have posted this himself but he's still tired from the first post he did 2 months ago :lmao:

I've used a heat gun before Jason and was able to slide them right off.

plug in your compressor and max the line pressure. take your blowgun to 1 end of the bars there is a small hole there (in the end of the grip ) hold thumb over other end and start blowing . coordination will get both off at the same time. M

AS FB says but either plug the bar heaters into a 12v battery to pre-heat them or as Idooski says use a heat gun before inflating them.

Just a word of caution here. Be careful with the high air presure. It can be deadly if anything lets go. That small of a volume of air should be okay, but with larger areas it can be very dangerous.
I'd heat em up good and see what hapens. My Yamaha was rivited on so they came off real easy. They're JB welded on now so they aint coming off in one piece.

Thanks for all the tips guys, Renegademike will be at my place working on it solo this weekend as I have a bowling tournament over in Grand Rapids. We are going riding next weekend so he wants to get everthing squared away just in case he has to order some more parts
