paul yarek 02-04-2006, 07:31 AM it's one of those years where the jetstreams have changed the directions of the weather we want.

CORY9 02-04-2006, 09:31 AM I've tried to be the eternal optimist, but my patience is wearing thin. Cannot believe how much snow has disappeared up here in the last week.
ZIPPARS02mxz800sp 02-04-2006, 02:07 PM well its 3.00pm here in mississauga. and its raining like crazy as usual.:(

Rottie 02-05-2006, 05:55 AM Hi guy's. We just returned from Florida yesterday and WOW what a difference a week makes! We had a solid 12 inches of new snow in the driveway that i spend 1 1/2 hours blowing out and now this morning we have had at least 6+ inches of new snow again. We must have had the storm on our tail when we left toronto yesterday cause we had bare pavement all the way home (left TO at 11:30am) And I'm supposed to drive to Ottawa for a course today..yay
nothing like leaving Tornado watche's in florida only to come home to winter storm warning.
paul yarek 02-05-2006, 06:47 AM with what we are getting here right now all it is going to be is a reason to sweep off the windshield of your vehicle.
tunedbyear 02-05-2006, 06:59 AM ya same here, but atleast the ground is froze AGAIN.
paul yarek 02-05-2006, 07:19 AM but atleast the ground is froze AGAIN.

the ground here was like mid april with no more frost in it a week ago. that rain sure brings out the frost in the ground.
Rick K 02-05-2006, 07:45 AM Wow it's -25 out here in the Interlake just outside of Winnipeg just a nice winter day..... but we have gotten soft this winter now it's cold out...
Rick
Rottie 02-05-2006, 09:00 AM ok we have had nearly 12 inches of fresh snow since last night. just spent 2+ hours blowing out my driveway and its still snowing. this pic doesn't do it justice but so you know the trees in the background are 16-18 feet high. my pile in the middle is now pretty close to 10 feet high.
paul yarek 02-05-2006, 09:14 AM ok we have had nearly 12 inches of fresh snow since last night. [/b]
i'm about 8 hours south of you. it's an end of march/early april storm here, keep the trailers ready.

If you have a trailer you should go to Huntsville. Its not to far from Barrie & they got lots of snow. I was there yesterday, the trails were rough but they were getting better the closer we got to Sprucedale. I would tell you more but my sled broke down & that was as far as I got. The groomers were starting to head out around 4pm & they were calling for 20cm last night, more today & looks like snow squals for mon & tues. Temps are also going to stay below 0. It's about time & of coarse my sled is down & the trails are starting to get good. :bash:
CORY9 02-05-2006, 09:34 PM We got seriously dumped on here, an honest 6 plus inches!!! The temps are dropping (-14 here right now) so this should be the best week of the year :D
Here's a pic :)

Wow, look at that picture!!!
I've got my reading week coming up, and I'm going to be spending most of it up north.
Can't wait to get into that snow! I hope the groomers are out during the week... less traffic on the trails, means smoother travel for my Phazer! I love being one of the first sleds down a freshly groomed trail.

LOL, fresh trails mid-week are the best!! :D
It's been a long wait but winter is finally here, hopefully i can get out in the next couple of days and put some serious miles on the new sleds.
MikeD 02-06-2006, 12:52 PM looking at all those pics just makes my work week seem REALLY long from this seat ...... C'MON FRIDAY!!!!!!!
swish 02-06-2006, 06:00 PM mother nature and the snow gods finally sent some happy powder.buried the sled in some 7 foot drifts today.still snowing and blowing pretty bad to go too far on the sleds.
I think i'm going to go and curl up somewhere and let my muscles recoup. for a day.
cooley 02-06-2006, 06:26 PM glad to see you got snow
CORY9 02-06-2006, 07:31 PM [quote]
LOL, here you there :D Wife and I had our first decent trail ride today, didn't realize how out of shape the 'sledding muscles' were! One of those rides where you spent the final 30 minutes wishing you were home already :dazed:
revrnd 02-06-2006, 07:37 PM It looks like Durham Region got about 6" today, so maybe the idgits will stay home next weekend & the trails up north will be safer to ride on :sarcasm:
SRV540 02-06-2006, 07:45 PM well it was a great day as it snowed allllll day!, I work at a bodyshop n Mt. Albert wich is just south of sutton and we had a good foot there, and I live in Scarborough just off the 401 and its crazy here.......called up to my mothers and she said there is tonnes of snow up there in the collingwood area....so should be a great weekend for sledding.....finally!!!! here are some picture I snaped tonight from my condo over looking the 401.

paul yarek 02-06-2006, 08:20 PM Cory,
i know the feeling with those tired bones. when you get like that you have a tendency to give'er for the last hour because you want to get back to the couch. that's when you are weak and the crash comes. i've almost went into the rhubarb a few times rushing to get back to ride the couch.
DOO THE DOO 02-06-2006, 08:22 PM Well us here too. The radio said from sat night to sunday morning we got 50+ cm. And it came down pretty well all day today 2. :D
