Anybody have any experience with the Air Shock system on the 1999 Grand Touring SE (800)?? Looks like my Shock is shot...the Air Compressor works fine. The Ski-Doo price on these is nearly 400 bucks. Does anybody make an aftermarket one?? or is there a repair kit for mine (the rubber Air "bag" is busted)?? Don't really feel like giving BRP $400.00 for a shock that looks like it cost $20.00 to make.

I had a GT 700 SE and had an air shock problem. I first thought that it was the shock, as the compressor worked fine. It turned out to be the braided line that goes into the top of the shock. It had an air leak at the elbow. I tried JB weld but it didn't hold up. You can replace the air line (remove the seat and another few bolts, not a major job). Put a bit of soapy water around the ends of the line and see if there is an air leak-if so, Bob's your uncle and your repair just got alot cheaper.

It's definitely the Shock...I have it off and can see that the Rubber bag is torn up. I think I have located a Shock that I can modify to fit. Will post when I see how it works.

Finally had a chance to get at it. I modified a Monroe Automotive Air Shock and a Firestone Air Compressor (the old compressor wore itself out trying to maintain pressure in the busted shock). Tested it on the weekend and it works awesome.
