Nith Valley Sledder mentioned on his post about the Gogama gas station being closed on Sundays. If any others have info like this post it here.

Last winter the gas station @ Elk lake was closed on Sunday. They will come out if you are willing to pay an extra 10 bucks. Matachewan gas is open on Sundays when sled traffic picks up. They will not charge a surcharge if they have to open up to gas up your sleds.

Elk Lake is open from noon to 4pm on Sundays this season. They will come out for a surcharge after hours. She was going to post the phone number in the window but I'm not sure if they are still in the cell phone coverage area or not.

there is full cell coverage in elk lake as well as matachewan.

On the way to Michigan yesterday, I saw that the Olco station in Webbwood is closed & up for sale.

The Esso station at the Espanola turnoff (17 & 6) is closed right now for renovations. There weren't any sign giving a date for reopening.

the driftwood truck stop isn't serving gas any more. restuurant is open though. this place is not on the trail system but the powder hounds might neede to know this if they are runnig the ditch or power line or the pipe line.

it is located 20 min west of cochrane.

If L143 is open south of Timmins this winter we plan on taking it south, gassing up in Shining Tree then heading east to Gowganda. I was told that there is no gas in the village on Hwy. 560. I'm pretty sure there was gas @ 3 Bears when we stopped by in '05. A co-worker says gas is available @ Spruce Shilling Camp. Any idea how far this place is from 3 Bears?

Has anyone been thru there during the moose hunt to know what the gas situation is like? If we can't get gas in Shining Tree, we'll come down TOP C & fill up @ Mattagami. We'll be good to go from there.

We got fuel & had lunch @ Mattagami FN on TOP C Friday. Very entertaining & great BBQ'd burgers.

Is the Cobalt Truck Stop open? When we went by yesterday & a week ago Saturday, there didn't appear to be much going on.

There's been some discussion elsewhere about getting gas east of Cochrane in Quebec. Before our trip I did some searching for gas company websites. Several of them have dealer locator features so can can see if they have a station in a particular town. If a address was included I was able to use City Navigator to create a waypoint. At least we had a general idea where they were.
