Changed the plugs, It will run fine at higher RPM and at idle, 1200 km, rings, comp. fine.
my Gsx 2005 800 does the same, maybe these big monsters are not suppose to run at low RPM for any distance? If anyone out there has one of these sleds, do you experience the same problem?? Need info thanks

I have an '05 800 X and I have no rough running problems. Until at least 3800 you're clutch shouldn't even be engaged. It should run smoothly right up through engagement. Have you checked to see that your carbs are in sync and that your fuel screws are adjusted the same? You could also have gotten something in your gas and the pilots could be partially plugged.

Make sure and check the carb boots. My dealer told me about this and there are lots of topics in dootalk.com about it. The rubber from the carb boots is delaminating and coming off the cage. The dealer showed me a leftover 05 that was on the showroom floor and it was bad big time. Could have almost pulled the rubber right off. The sled was brand new.

I was going to mention reed cages too, but since that happened on my '02, I figured BRP might have gotten it fixed 3 years later by '05... :bash:
Has anyone ever heard that the delamination might be caused by stabil or dry gas? It would be interesting to see how many people who had this problem used either of those products. I had delamination on my '02, I usually summerize with stabil, and run at least 2-3 doses of dry gas per season...

Actually, now that I tink about it, I realize that I had a senior moment when I agreed that it could be the cages. They did change out the cages for '05. The delaminating should be non-existent on those sleds. If they have been that way since new, I would suggest that the set-up on them was done by someone less than competant.
